priorto having this issue (oil pressure gauge dropping to zero at idle because the sensor was soaked in pwr steering fluid) the oil pressure gauge (real gauge - 2001 WJ v8) always stayed around 45-50 psi . but now after putting in the new sensor it seems to stay around 55-60 psi. The FSM isn't much help, all I can find in there for the v8

fireron My guess is you did not reset the oil change indicator, therefore the computer just went by your driving habits and mileage combo. Just a thought. But the manual does state 8,000 miles or 6 months for an oil change, whichever comes first, to keep your warranty valid. Many folks on here seem to miss that point.
